Persuasion, Chapter 15
Anne has arrived in Bath and is settling into her family's new lodgings in Camden Place. She came in expecting the worst, but is pleasantly surprised to find her father and sister receiving her with kindness, even if it is only because they want to show her the furniture. More intriguing is the fact that Mr. Elliot has also taken up residence in Bath, and is eager to reconnect with his cousins. When he calls on them late in the evening, Anne is delighted to find that he is indeed the same gentleman that she briefly encountered in Lyme. All in all, it's a surprisingly successful start to her time in Bath. As Anne enjoys her pleasant evening, let it help bring peace to your own evening, as you settle in for another night of gentle sleep.
